Who can get it
- Must have a heat pump (air or ground source), an electric boiler, or electric radiators at the property to join Cosy Octopus itself
- Smart meter required
- Must be an Octopus Energy customer
- Available as a flexible tariff and, since the 20 Oct 2026 launch, as a 12-month fixed version
- Export is only available by separately joining an Octopus export tariff; see those records for their own conditions
Cosy Octopus has no export rate of its own. Export for a household on Cosy is a separate Octopus export tariff (Outgoing Octopus, Prime Outgoing Octopus, Agile Outgoing Octopus or the Octopus SEG tariff, each recorded separately in this file); Octopus states that Outgoing Octopus can only be paired with certain import tariffs.

Yes, in principle. Octopus Energy does not require the solar or battery to be installed by Octopus Energy itself for this rate.

How much does Octopus Energy pay on Cosy export?
Cosy Octopus is an import-only tariff built for heat pump households (three off-peak windows timed to heating schedules). Octopus's Cosy page does not describe any export element.
